Construction Around Town: YMCA Ward Branch - 417 S. Jefferson

MoDoCo is the general contractor for work at the downtown YMCA location, according to Ward Branch Executive Director Steve Irwin. Sapp Design Associates is the architect. Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer, and Scott Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer. Irwin said work is being done in a number of areas. On the fourth floor, crews are finishing up the corporate offices, a running track is being installed on the third floor, and crews are finishing electrical work to accommodate cardio equipment. Irwin said the critical thing crews are working on now is the stair tower adjacent to the elevator, which will make the entire building ADA accessible. The men's and women's locker rooms are near completion, he said.

The renovations, worth $2.5 million, are scheduled for completion in mid-October.
