Debco Construction Inc. is the general contractor for this 69,000-square-foot project that will add 58 units to The Abbey apartment complex. Burns & Associates, Architects designed the project and Venture Investments LLC is the owner/developer.
According to the building permit filed with the city of Springfield, the estimated construction cost is $3.04 million.
The new units, which will be one-bedroom, two-bedroom, studio, suite and penthouse apartments ranging in size from 520 square feet to 1,545 square feet, will bring the total number of units to 165.
Additions also include an oversized elevator for moving furniture. The exterior will be a combination of EIFS and stone with a copper roof. The entire project is set for completion by summer 2003; however, half of the new units will be available early next year.
