An expansion project is under way for Ozark Electric Cooperative's district office at 2007 N. James River Court in Nixa. Bell Building Systems Inc. is the general contractor and Ben J. Goforth is the architect.
The expansion will house the cooperative's in-house engineering services as well as telecommunication services for its clients. The estimated completion date for the expansion is August; once finished, the district office in Nixa will have a total square footage of 7,401.
The Mt. Vernon-based cooperative serves a total of 27,000 meters in parts of nine counties; 8,000 of those meters are served from the Nixa office, according to Pat Prewitt, assistant manager. The estimated construction cost for the expansion is $500,000-$600,000, Prewitt said.
