|tab|

The Underwood Oil Company, a Texaco distributor, is constructing a new gas station combined with a convenience store and McDonald's. Tom Underwood, owner of the Rogersville-based company, said the station will become a Shell when the project is complete. "In the last year Shell and Texaco had a joint venture together." Underwood said all Texaco stations will convert to the Shell brand in the next two or three years as a result. "We're going to change all of ours by next spring," he said.|ret||ret||tab|

The project's general contractor, Southwest Builders Inc., will demolish the old gas station when the new $550,000 project is complete Feb. 1, 2003. Marshall-Waters-Woody Associates is architect of the 5,631-square-foot project.|ret||ret||tab|
