Construction continues on Doling Park's Doling Family Center, which, when completed, will replace the existing Northview Senior Center and Doling Park recreation building. R.E. Smith Construction is the general contractor for the center, which will cost an estimated $4.5 million. Hood-Rich Inc. was the architecture firm for the project and Jack F. Hood and Jana B. Funk were the project architects. Total square footage for the project is 44,000 square feet. The Doling Family Center will occupy about 25,000 square feet and the senior citizens' wing will occupy the remaining 19,000 square feet. The senior wing includes an 8,000-square-foot multipurpose room and a full commercial kitchen. Other amenities in the center include a basketball court, an indoor track and community meeting rooms. The estimated completion date is summer 2003. |ret||ret||tab|
