Evangel University's latest campus addition is a 67,000-square-foot structure that's known as Academic Building II. Walton Construction is the general contractor for the three-story structure that will join Academic Building I via a second-floor enclosed walkway. Sapp Design Agency is the architect, All-State Consultants of Columbia is the structural engineer and Smith-Goth Engineers is the mechanical engineer. The building will house a first-floor communication center, which will include state-of-the-art TV, radio and recording studios. There will be three large lecture halls, seven general classrooms, five seminar rooms and special labs for publications, speech, multimedia, psychology, writing, languages and computers. The building also will have offices for five of the university's 10 undergraduate academic departments: behavioral sciences, biblical studies and philosophy, communication, education and humanities. The completion date is set for summer 2005, with a building dedication to coincide with Evangel's 50th anniversary homecoming celebration. |ret||ret||tab|
