This building, once called the Aardvark Building because it was long home to Aardvark Recording Studios, was gutted by fire in December. High winds and rain damage caused the south wall to fall in March 27, and Public Works crews later removed the east wall and most of the north wall, after conferring with property owners Dan Scott and David Kellett about the security of those two walls. Despite the series of problems they have encountered, Scott and Kellett plan to rebuild a one-story structure on the site. Space in that building will be leased to SMSU to house the Faculty Art Gallery and photo studio, currently located in the university's Downtown Hall. That five-year lease begins on or prior to Oct. 1, at a cost of $9 per square foot annually.
