Dalio Philanthropies' Ray and Barbara Dalio gifted Connecticut $100 million.
The funding will be used for a partnership primarily designed to help youth in "under-resourced" communities stay in high school.
"The partnership seeks to raise $300 million over five years: $100 million from the state of Connecticut, matched by $100 million from Dalio Philanthropies and $100 million from other philanthropists and business leaders," a news release states.
Ray Dalio has a net worth of around $16 billion. He's the founder of hedge fund Bridgewater Associates.
