U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Maryland, died early Thursday. He was 68.
His office cited "complications concerning longstanding health challenges."
A 23-year member of the House and chairman of its Oversight and Reform Committee, Cummings was a key figure in the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.
