U.S. lawmakers are considering new rules to more strictly govern crypocurrencies, top lawmakers told Reuters.
"There's no question about the fact that there is a need for a regulatory framework," said Republican Senator Mike Rounds, a Senate Banking Committee member.
According to Reuters, digital assets currently are in a jurisdictional gray area between the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Treasury Department, the Federal Reserve and individual states.
