Conde Nast chairman emeritus dies at 89

S.I. Newhouse Jr., chairman emeritus of Conde Nast, died Sunday. He was 89.

During his career, Newhouse transformed Vanity Fair, presided over Vogue and bought The New Yorker.

His father, Samuel I. Newhouse, purchased the Conde Nast publishing company in 1959.
