Concert raises money for local band member’s son

Posted online
A benefit concert tonight at the Outland in downtown Springfield will raise money for a local band, whose bass player’s son has been diagnosed with cancer.

Area band Arkamo Rangers will headline the concert at 8 p.m. Bass player Gary Rea recently found out his 2-year old son, Kaden Quinn Rea, has cancer. The band hopes to raise money to ease the financial burden on the Rea family.

The concert will feature music by other local bands and performers: Moore-Healy, Bo Brown, Cindy Woolf, Mark Bilyeu, Eric Weiler and Patrick Mureithi.

The cover charge is $3. All door proceeds and all sales from MayApple Records CDs will be donated. Springfield-based MayApple is the record label for most of the bands performing in the concert.
