Posted online
ConAgra Foods announced it will cut 1,500 jobs, outsource technology and back office positions to reduce costs, and move its headquarters to Chicago from Omaha, Neb., next year.

The maker of Slim Jim beef jerky and Chef Boyardee pasta expects to save up to $300 million during the next three years, with $200 million coming from the job cuts.

The layoffs represent about 30 percent of the company's office-based workforce. Jobs in its plants will not be affected.
