Community Foundation presents Humanitarian Award to Bengsch

Harold Bengsch (right), director of the Springfield-Greene County Health Department, received the Jewell Thompson Schweitzer 2001 Humanitarian of the Year Award at a Dec. 5 luncheon sponsored by Community Foundation of the Ozarks. Chairman of the foundation, Mary Beth O'Reilly (left), and Schweitzer (center), made the presentation, recognizing Bengsch for his leadership in numerous professional and volunteer efforts to improve access to affordable health care for the underserved, especially measurable contributions to area children's health.
