The merger of two out-of-state business telecommunications firms includes an office in Springfield.
Santa Clara, Calif.-based business communications software firm Vertical Communications announced this week it would absorb Roswell, Ga.-based Fulton Communications, a provider of voice, data and video communications technology that operates an office in the Queen City. Terms of the deal were undisclosed in a news release.
Fulton's Springfield office, 4650 S. National Ave., Ste. A-6 in South National Office Plaza, opened in December 2010, according to
Springfield Business Journal archives. The company also operates a Missouri office in St. Louis.
The combined company will operate as Vertical Communications. Fulton will continue to operate under its existing brand during an initial integration period, and Vertical will sell and support the company's existing services, according to the release.
"Our customers have expressed their desire to have a direct relationship with our company, and this merger allows us to offer that through a strong local presence across the country," Vertical CEO Peter Bailey said in the release.
Vertical Communications claims 300,000 global business customers, and adds offices in nine U.S. states with the acquisition of Fulton, according to the release.
