Commission to decide electric provider for Greene County land

Posted online
Empire District Electric Co. in Joplin and Ozark Electric Cooperative have filed a joint application to designate which group should provide service to a tract of Greene County land south of Republic.

Under their proposed agreement, Ozark Electric would acquire certain electric facilities from Empire, resulting in some customers changing suppliers. The purpose is to prevent future duplication of electric service facilities, according to the application.

The application has been filed with the Missouri Public Service Commission.

Applications to intervene in the case must be sent by Sept. 6 to the Missouri Public Service Commission, PO Box 360, Jefferson City, MO 65102; to Gary W. Duffy, of Brydon, Swearengen & England PC, 312 E. Capitol Ave., Jefferson City, MO 65102; to Rodric A. Widger, of Andereck, Evans, Milne, Widger & Johnson LLC, 1111 S. Glenstone Ave., Ste. 2–100, Springfield, MO 65804; and to the Office of the Public Counsel, PO Box 2230, Jefferson City, MO 65102.

Individuals citizens wishing to comment should contact the Office of the Public Counsel at (573) 751-4857 or opcservice@ded.mo.gov, or the commission staff at (800) 392-4211 or pscinfo@psc.mo.gov.[[In-content Ad]]
