Commission selects finalists for county judgeship

Posted online
The 31st Circuit Judicial Commission this week selected three finalists for a Greene County associate judgeship going vacant this month due to retirement.

Judge Mark Fitzsimmons of Division 23 is slated to retire by month's end. The commission chose Andy Hosmer, Becky Borthwick and Randall Eggert as finalists out of 16 applications, according to a Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association notice to its members.

Hosmer is an attorney with the Springfield law firm of Hosmer King & Royce LLC; Borthwick is a municipal court judge for the city of Springfield; and Eggert is an assistant U.S. attorney.

The three selections now move on to the desk of Gov. Jay Nixon, who has 60 days to select a new associate judge.
