The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission quickly denied a disqualification appeal by the owner of Maximum Security.
Gary West sought the appeal after his horse Maximum Security was disqualified from a first-place finish in the Kentucky Derby. Officials say Maximum Security impeded the paths of several other horses in the race on Saturday.
"We'll file suit in whatever the appropriate court is," West said after the appeal was denied. "I don't know the answer to that, but the lawyers that I have retained will know what the appropriate venue is."

I will admit that I don't know anything about horse racing. With that said I watched this and really felt like it was wrong. The horse that won did appear to impede several other horses but there was no clear evidence that the horse that was given the win was impeded by any horse. They seemed to win because of the affect on other horses that might have won and because they are the ones that filed an appeal. But it is over and done with.
