The interior design theme selected for the Springfield-Greene County Library District’s Republic location is growth reflecting the city’s expansion and agricultural roots, according to Brooke Cinalli of B. Cinalli Designs. One challenge during this project was that the budget was significantly cut about halfway through the process. As a result, Cinalli said some of the artwork and interactive features were eliminated. The goal was to create a rustic-modern style with clean lines and a modern color palette. The finished design combines a color scheme of green, red and white with a warm wood tone. Wood reclaimed after the area’s 2007 ice storms is used in custom tables Cinalli designed, as well as in wall sculptures, all mixed with clean-line sofas and chairs. The texture of the wall sculptures is repeated in custom bookend panels designed with wood and Modular Arts, a dimensional wall-surfacing panel product.[[In-content Ad]]
