Kansas City-based Commerce Bancshares Inc. (Nasdaq: CBSH) delivered a 3.3% increase in fourth-quarter profits.
The operator of four Commerce Bank branches in Springfield reported net income of $140.7 million, up from $136.1 million in fourth-quarter 2024, according to a news release. Diluted share earnings rose to $1.01 from 96 cents year over year.
“Commerce delivered record revenues in the fourth quarter, driven by strong performance across both net interest income and noninterest income," Commerce President and CEO John Kemper said in the release. "Our overall results for the quarter and the full year are a reflection of the strength and diversity of our businesses and the dedication of our team members in serving our customers, communities and shareholders."
For the full year, profits were $566.3 million, a 7.6% increase from $526.3 million in 2024.
Commerce Bank's assets were $32.9 billion and deposits were $25.6 billion as of Dec. 31, according to the release.
CBSH shares were trading at $52.52 as of 10:09 a.m., compared with a 52-week range of $48.69 to $65.59 per share.
