In his new role, Osborn will be responsible for the overall administration of Commerce's Springfield region, which includes branches in Springfield, Bolivar, Branson, Lebanon, Nixa, Ozark, Republic and Willard.

“We are pleased to have Fred serve in this very important leadership role for Commerce Bank in Springfield," Commerce Bancshares Vice Chairman Seth Leadbeater said in the release. "Fred has shown strong leadership in our Joplin region and is well qualified to lead the Springfield region."

Bob Hammerschmidt, who has 37 years of banking experience, will remain president of the Springfield market.

Osborn has been active in the Joplin community serving as vice president on the boards of the Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity and the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce.

Clive Veri, commercial banking division manager in Joplin, will replace Osborn as president of the Joplin region.
