Commerce completes acquisition of Denver bank

Kansas City-based Commerce Bancshares Inc. has completed its acquisition of Denver-based Commerce Bank, the companies jointly announced Monday.

First announced in April, the transaction was valued at $29.5 million.

The independent Colorado Commerce Bank brings $100.9 million in assets, $73.9 million in gross loans and $69.8 million in deposits to Commerce Bancshares. It also gives the Missouri company its first Colorado location.

Commerce Bancshares is a $15.2 billion bank-holding company with about 360 locations, mainly in Missouri, Illinois, Kansas and Oklahoma. Shares (Nasdaq: CBSH) closed Monday at $45.60, compared to a 52-week range of $43.43 to $50.77.[[In-content Ad]]
