The dividend is a 7.2 percent increase from the previous dividend when adjusted for the 5 percent stock dividend paid on Dec. 13.
The announcement marks the 37th consecutive year that the Kansas City-based company has increased total dividends per share.
The latest dividend is payable March 28 to stockholders of record at the close of business March 9.
Commerce Bancshares Inc. operates 340 locations in Missouri, Kansas and Illinois. Shares of the company’s stock (Nasdaq: CBSH) closed Feb. 20 at $51.95, compared to a 52-week range of $43.94 to $53.63.
