Commerce Bank donates to Convoy’s ice-storm relief efforts

Posted online
The William T. Kemper Foundation–Commerce Bank has made a $5,000 contribution to Convoy of Hope, which in the aftermath of January’s ice storm spent more than $200,000 in disaster response efforts.

Convoy reacted to the Jan. 12–14 storm by distributing 300,000 pounds of food, water and personal hygiene kits throughout the Ozarks. The Springfield-based organization also served as Springfield-Greene County Emergency Operations Center’s donation management site.

“We are pleased to be able to support the good work of Convoy of Hope in assisting those in their need to cope with the aftermath of the ice storm and the many challenges they face,” said Bob Hammerschmidt, president of Commerce’s Springfield region, in a news release.

The William T. Kemper Foundation was established in 1989 with a focus on philanthropic efforts in education, health and human services, civic improvements and the arts.[[In-content Ad]]
