Coming soon to Wal-Mart: A new way to find products from women entrepreneurs

Wal-Mart Stores did some research and found that 90 percent of women shoppers would deliberately look for products made by women-owned businesses, according to Bloomberg Businessweek.
 
The retailer is looking to capitalize on the increasingly popular practice of buyers choosing items that reflect their values, like selecting food labeled as having not been genetically modified. So it teamed with a couple of nonprofits to create a logo to stick on goods made by companies operated by women.
 
The thinking, according to the report, is women will purchase the items to show solidarity with female entrepreneurs. The logos should be on products by September.
