TV game-show host and Drury University alumnus Bob Barker receives the honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Dean Charles Taylor, left, and President John Sellars during graduation ceremonies May 12 at Weiser Gymnasium. Barker graduated summa cum laude from Drury in 1947.

At bottom right, Barker gives the commencement address. He spoke of his history in broadcasting; his first job was as a reporter at KTTS-FM, where he covered the building of Weiser Gymnasium. Barker has been a game show host on national television since 1956, has hosted the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants and the Rose Parade, and has received 17 Emmy awards.[[In-content Ad]]
