Comcast entered a $29.5 billion bid for British pay TV broadcaster Sky.
The bid represents a 16 percent premium to that offered by media mogul Rupert Murdoch's Century Fox.
“We think that Sky would be very valuable to us as we look to expand our presence internationally,” Comcast CEO Brian Roberts said.
