Columbia University has settled claims by the federal government that the higher education institution allegedly violated antidiscrimination laws.
The settlement, which does not admit wrongdoing, comprises a $200 million payment to the federal government over three years. It also includes an additional $21 million related to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission investigations.
Columbia University officials said that "a vast majority" of its federal grants that were terminated or paused in March would be reinstated.
