The city of Columbia has received $14.3 million in a settlement with Brightspeed Communications.
The cities of Columbia and Joplin sued Brightspeed, formerly known as CenturyTel of Missouri, in 2014, alleging the company underpaid certain licensing taxes and fees, according to KOMU.
The settlement does not include admission of wrongdoing.
