Colorado marijuana sales total $1.3B in 2016

Marijuana sales in Colorado topped the billion-dollar mark for the first time last year.

Colorado Department of Revenue data indicate sales reached $1.3 billion, up from $996.2 million in 2015 and $699.2 million in 2014, the first year of legal recreational pot sales.

Last year, tax and fee revenue from marijuana sales totaled $199 million in Colorado.
