Springfield-based Collegiate Awards made an acquisition in the St. Louis market.
The company closed Oct. 5 on the purchase of All-Star Trophy from owner Skip Berkmeyer, according to a news release. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"The past six months have been an extremely tough time for our industry due to COVID, but with this acquisition we look to continue our growth trend," Collegiate Awards President Erin Boster said in the release. "I want to assure All-Star's customer base that we are committed to providing excellent levels of service and value as we attempt to build on the legacy of the Berkmeyer family."
Collegiate Awards will continue to fulfill all orders from its Springfield office at 1801 E. Trafficway St. Berkmeyer is slated to stay on board in a consulting role.
With the acquisition, Collegiate Awards gains company experience dating back to 1971, when All-Star Trophy was founded by Rick Berkmeyer, according to the release.
Founded in 2005, Collegiate Awards offers customers awards, trophies, plaques, gifts and engraving. Customers have included Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
A safe room and classroom addition at Willard Central Elementary School will be used by the music, arts and athletic programs for a district that had 4,536 students last year, according to Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education figures, but school officials say enrollment is projected to grow.
