More than 300 turned out to honor southwest Missouri’s 12 fastest-growing companies at Oasis Convention Center. The rankings were as follows:
1. Cody Ventures LLC dba as Cody’s Convenience Stores
3. Banta Foods
5. Jack Henry & Associates Inc.
6. CoxHealth
10. Protel Systems & Supplies Inc.
Accepting the award on Cody’s behalf was company Chief Operating Officer Curtis Jared, who attributed the convenience store chain’s explosive growth to its hard-working employees.
“You don’t win awards by how nice your stores are – it’s the people who run them,” Jared said. “If you don’t have good employees, you don’t have good operations.”
Last year’s No. 1 company Incredible Pizza Co. continued its strong growth to place as the second-fastest-growing company on the 2008 list. Other repeat honorees were Banta Foods; Jack Henry; Cox; DeWitt – which has placed No. 7 twice before; Russell Cellular – the No. 1 company in 2004, Dynamic Dozen’s inaugural year; and Healthcarefirst. New to the rankings were Covenant Church Furniture, Protel, Hamra and Southern Trades.
