Coca-Cola is launching an alcoholic drink for the first time, Fox Business reports.
The experiment will be conducted in Japan, where popularity is growing for Chu-Hi, a canned drink featuring shochu, a Japanese spirit made from distilled grains, sparkling water and flavoring.
Jorge Garduno, president of Coca-Cola’s Japanese business unit, said the product likely would remain in the Japanese market, but “globally, it’s not uncommon for non-alcoholic beverages to be sold in the same system as alcoholic beverages.”
