CNH Reman adds distribution center

CNH Reman recently announced the opening of a distribution center within its 260,000-square-foot Springfield manufacturing facility in west Springfield at 2707 Farm Road 123.

The center is expected to eventually utilize about 30,000-square-feet of unused space at the facility, said Kris Harper, manager of brand and dealer communication for CNH Parts & Service North America, a subsidiary of CNH Global N.V.

"By housing the redistribution center within the manufacturing facility, we have the ability to ... ship directly to the dealers from Springfield," Harper said.

The facility remanufactures engines, drivelines and hydraulics, among other parts, the release said.

The 95-employee farm and construction equipment remanufacturing facility will ship products to dealerships across the country, including those for Case IH, Case Construction Equipment, New Holland Agriculture, New Holland Construction, Kobelco and Fiat Powertrain Technologies, according to a news release.

Harper said there are no immediate plans to hire additional employees at the facility, but that is a likely scenario as production and shipping increases.

CNH Reman is a joint venture between Illinois-based CNH Global N.V. and Springfield Remanufacturing Corp. The two companies announced they would open the facility in 2009.
