CNBC has released its annual rankings of NHL teams based on their valuations. The data shows the average professional hockey team is worth $2.2 billion.
No. 1 is the Toronto Maple Leafs, with a $4.3 billion valuation. That's up 8% from last year's list.
No. 2 is the New York Rangers, followed by the No. 3 Montreal Canadiens with valuations of $3.8 billion and $3.4 billion, respectively.
