The 21st annual Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, held June 3–4, raised a record $1.6 million to help sick and injured Ozarks children.
“The generosity of the people of the Ozarks is unbelievable,” said CMN Director Susan Scanlon, in a news release. “For the past 21 years, more and more children have needed medical help from Children’s Miracle Network. Thanks to the donations from the people of the Ozarks, we are able to meet those needs.”
During the past year, Scanlon said, CMN was able to help more than 100,000 children in the Ozarks.
Sponsors for the telethon, which was televised on KY3, were Springfield-area credit unions, ReMax, Price Cutter, Price Cutter Charity Championship, Masons, Great Southern Bank, 99 Hit FM, Kum & Go, Bass Country 92.9 FM, CoxHealth and Wal-Mart.
Children’s Miracle Network of CoxHealth is a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance for medical services for Ozarks children. All proceeds benefit CMN efforts, providing medical equipment, financial assistance and education programs, and supporting the Care Mobile. All funds raised locally stay in the Ozarks.
