Citizens Memorial Hospital has hired a member of CoxHealth's leadership team as its next chief medical officer.
Dr. Staci Rogers is scheduled to start as CMH's chief medical officer on Jan. 5, according to a news release. She'll succeed Dr. Ron Evans, who is retiring after eight years in the role and 33 years at CMH's Bolivar Family Care Center as a family practice physician.
A 17-year employee of CoxHealth, Rogers currently works as the health system's vice president and chief transformation officer.
“I’m excited to join CMH and work alongside a dedicated group of clinicians and staff,” Rogers said in the release. “Together, we will continue to strengthen patient care and explore new ways to support the health needs of our rural communities."
As chief medical officer at CMH, Rogers is slated to oversee clinical strategy, patient safety efforts and medical innovation strategies.
Rogers was selected from a field of seven applicants following a nationwide search, said Tamera Heitz-Peek, CMH director of marketing.
"Her experience leading organizational change and aligning strategy, operations and technology will be valuable as we continue improving care for the patients we serve throughout the region," CMH CEO Michael Calhoun said in the release.
At CoxHealth, Rogers' executive duties will be absorbed by other vice presidents, said Randy Berger, the health system's administrative director of corporate communications.
