Clorox sues Lysol

Clorox Co. filed a lawsuit against Lysol maker Reckitt Benckiser.

The suit alleges fale advertising on the part of Reckitt Benckiser, which is accused of comparing several Lysol products to Clorox products that are not comparable. An example is Lysol Disinfectant Spray compared with Clorox Disinfectant Wipes, which have different uses, the suit claims.

“We’re not opposed to competitive advertising, but we are opposed to advertising designed to mislead,” said Eric Reynolds, executive vice president of cleaning and Burt’s Bees at Clorox (NYSE: CLX). "The egregious and misleading nature of their campaign compelled us to file this lawsuit.”
