Clear Creek Golf Car and Powersports is seeking to raise $50,000 for a local nonprofit.
There are 500 tickets available to win a Clear Creek custom golf car, with proceeds benefiting The Warrior’s Journey, according to a news release. The Springfield faith-based nonprofit's website indicate it helps veterans by providing "warrior-to-warrior intervention and preventative resources" to care for so-called invisible wounds, such as PTSD, financial difficulties and isolation.
"We are honored to be part of The Warrior's Journey with you guys, and it's a cause that we care deeply about," said Justin Fraker, Clear Creek president, in a video on the nonprofit's website.
Tickets for the custom golf car – valued at more than $25,000 – are being sold at $100 apiece, with 500 available, according to the release. The winner will be drawn at the Oct. 24 TWJ Golf Classic at Highland Springs Country Club; the raffle is slated to remain open until all tickets are sold.
The Warrior's Journey Chief Operations Officer Blake Leitch said via email that around 150 tickets have been sold to date.
With an operating budget of $1.5 million, Leitch said the 26-employee, 150-volunteer nonprofit serves roughly 200,000 veterans per year.
Earlier this year, Clear Creek Golf Car expanded its space fivefold with a headquarters move to Ozark from Springfield, according to past reporting. Brian Cheever, the company's CEO and managing partner, was one of Springfield Business Journal's 2022 Men of the Year in August.
The first southwest Missouri location of EarthWise Pet, a national chain of pet supply stores, opened; Grey Oak Investments LLC relocated; and Hot Bowl by Everyday Thai LLC got its start.
