A 25-year-old cleaning business has changed hands, but it's staying in the family.
Magers Elite Cleaning LLC, which does business as Magers’ Elite Cleaning, or MEC for short, transitioned to new ownership on Jan. 1, 2025, said co-owner Brett Magers. However, the company announced the change in a Facebook post last month.
Randy and Diana Magers sold the business to their children: Brooke Watson, Brett Magers, Heather Lacobee and Derek Magers, according to the post. Brett Magers declined to disclose terms of the deal and ownership percentages, but he noted he is managing partner and Lacobee is serving as customer relations, sales and team care manager.
MEC President Mark Brown remains in the role, Magers said. He and wife Lisa, the company's office administrator, are running the business day to day.
"I am deeply grateful to Randy and Diana for the opportunity they gave me 14 years ago to help lead their business," Brown said via email. "I am equally excited to work alongside our managing partner, Brett Magers. His experience, passion and depth of knowledge in the business world bring tremendous value to our company."
MEC has 70 employees, Magers said. He noted the company's residential division has over 180 clients, its commercial division has some 70 clients and its new construction division is working with more than 50 contractors and has over 100 customers for windows and floors.
As to Randy and Diana Magers, Brett Magers said his parents are staying busy with grandkids, travel and their church.
"They have always been family-oriented, and now they get to enjoy and dedicate lots of time to their four kids and fifteen grandchildren," Magers said.
