Clayco CEO Bob Clark is pitching an $800 million convention center in St. Louis.
His plan involves ditching a proposed $210 million convention center addition in favor of the larger structure. The current downtown facility would be demolished should his plan come to fruition.
He said the project could be funded by federal infrastructure money and a potential settlement with the National Football League over the Rams' 2016 exit to Los Angeles.
"St. Louis has to stop being the world capital of missed opportunities," Clark said, stating the current plans are inadequate.
