A ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony is scheduled after the first day of classes wraps up Jan. 22 at New Covenant Academy’s recently completed Liberty Campus.

The private Christian college preparatory school invested $2.4 million to renovate and expand Life360 Church’s former Park Crest campus. Godwin & Associates Architects & Engineers Inc. served as general contractor.

More than 200 students are slated to attend the 22,700-square-foot campus at 3581 S. Kansas Ave. New Covenant’s main campus is nearby at 3304 S. Cox Ave., off Kansas Expressway. The school can house 300 fifth- through eighth-grade students.

New Covenant officials have said the Liberty Campus was necessitated by student growth. As of November, the school had 650 students enrolled, Springfield Business Journal previously reported.

New Covenant bought the campus from Life360 in August 2017 for undisclosed terms. Life360 moved its Park Crest congregation in September 2018 to the former Palace theater at 2220 W. Chesterfield Blvd. in Chesterfield Village.
