Class-action petition filed against Red Robin

Posted online
A Republic couple filed a class-action petition against Greenwood Village, Colo.-based Red Robin Gourmet Burgers Inc. (Nasdaq: RRGB) following this month's hepatitis scare at the South Glenstone Avenue restaurant in Springfield.

According to a KY3 report, the petition filed May 23 in Greene County by Donald and Melinda Call claims the restaurant was negligent by allowing an ill employee to work and by not requiring employees to get vaccinated.

The couple was among thousands that ate at Red Robin during when the employee who has tested positive for hepatitis A was working there. The Calls were encouraged to get vaccinations, as were others who were potentially exposed.

According to a News-Leader report, the Calls claim they suffered pain and emotional distress as a result of the situation.
