City's November sales tax check increases 10%

Springfield's 1 percent sales tax check for November from the Missouri Department of Revenue was $2.4 million, a 10.2 percent increase compared to $2.1 million a year ago.

November represents the second month in fiscal 2013 - which began in July - the city has recorded an increased sales tax check from the state compared to the same month of the prior year. In August, the city's check increased by 13.7 percent to $2.1 million, according to data provided by the city.

Total fiscal year collections through November are $15.3 million, a 4.3 percent decrease from $15.9 million in the same period of fiscal 2012.
