The task force, which is expected to meet for five months, will recommend how such development proposals should be reviewed and approved in the city.
The size of the task force is not limited to a specific number, according to a city news release; membership is open to citizens of Springfield and the surrounding urban service area, and to design professionals and developers who build in the city. The task force’s membership will be a balance of all interested parties, including the development community and neighborhood groups.
All participants must be able to attend the first task force meeting at 6 p.m. Oct. 9 in a to-be-determined location. Subsequent meetings also will be on Monday nights.
