City manager finalists to be picked today

The list of candidates could be made public Tuesday or Wednesday, according to a city news release.

In a closed meeting at 5 p.m. today, the committee and council will hear presentations from executive search firm Arcus Public on an initial group of candidates. The firm will present each candidate’s résumé, information from preliminary interviews, a questionnaire that each candidate was asked to fill out, references and initial background checks, according to the release.

Council and committee members hope to narrow the pool to a group of finalists, who then will be notified and invited to visit Springfield for formal interviews. After they’ve been notified, the city will publicly announce the finalists.

When the candidates are in town for interviews Aug. 3–5, the public will be invited to two open-house-style receptions to meet them.[[In-content Ad]]
