City collects $3.7M in April sales taxes

Springfield's 1 percent sales tax check for April from the Missouri Department of Revenue was $3.73 million, a 0.2 percent decrease from collections of $3.74 million in the same month of the prior fiscal year.

The latest check brings year-to-date collections through April up to $33.05 million, an 8.7 percent increase from $30.42 million by the same period in fiscal 2011, according to city of Springfield data provided this morning.

The latest check is the fourth highest in fiscal 2012, with the largest occurring in September with collections of $4.76 million.[[In-content Ad]]
