The Springfield Planning and Zoning Commission is taking nominations for the city’s 2006 Landscape Awards.
The awards honor developments that demonstrate quality landscaping that enhances the community’s quality of life. Nominations are not limited to sites landscaped in the last year; they may also include developments in which mature landscaping further illustrates the value of plantings.
Nominations, which must be for sites located within the Springfield city limits, can be made in one of seven categories:
• Major improvement or rehabilitation of an existing site;
• Retail establishment;
• Manufacturing or office establishment;
• Residential subdivision, neighborhood or mixed-use developments;
• Publicly owned grounds or properties;
• The special recognition certificate, for properties that don’t easily fit into another category; and
• Special volunteer recognition.
Nomination forms can be requested by contacting the Springfield Planning and Development Department at (417) 864-1033.
Nominations must be received by July 31.
