Project description: This project includes a three-story addition to the south side of the existing Citizens Memorial Hospital. The building will be a cast-in-place concrete structure with an exterior skin that is a combination of brick, curtain wall and aluminum wall panels. The addition will include a new main entrance, emergency department, dietary department, gift shop, pharmacy, patient rooms, intensive care suite and birthing suite with dedicated C-section room. The addition is due to be completed in January 2026, with the renovation phase to follow. Architects are HMN Architects Inc. (Overland Park, Kansas), general, and frankZdesign LLC, landscape. Engineers are Own Inc., civil; Bob D. Campbell & Co. (Kansas City), structural; Brack & Associates Inc. (Topeka, Kansas), mechanical, electrical and plumbing; and Palmerton & Parrish Inc., geotechnical.
