Project description: A three-story addition is coming to the south side of Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar. The building is designed as cast-in-place concrete, and its exterior will include brick, curtain wall/storefront and aluminum wall panels. The building addition is designed to include a new main entrance with drop-off canopy, with multiple other departments, like an emergency department, pharmacy, private medical/surgical patient rooms, an intensive care unit suite and a birthing suite. The renovation will begin once the new tower addition is complete, construction officials say. The architect is HMN Architects Inc. (Overland Park, Kansas), with landscape architect frankZdesign LLC. Engineers are Own Inc., civil; Bob D. Campbell & Co. (Kansas City), structural; Brack & Associates Consulting Engineers (Topeka, Kansas), mechanical, electrical and plumbing; and Palmerton & Parrish Inc., geotechnical.
